Court Asked To Halt Tinubu’s Inauguration, Extend Buhari’s Tenure Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have asked a Federal High Court in Abuja to stop the inauguration of President-elect Bola Tinubu. The residents represented by Anyaegbunam Ubaka Okoye, David Aondover Adzer, Jeffrey Oheobeh Ucheh, Osang Paul and Chibuke Nwachukwu, are seeking a court order restraining the Chief Justice of Nigeria and any judicial officer and/or any authority or persons from swearing in any candidate in the February 25 presidential election as president or vice president.   They said this is to judicially determine with finality in accordance with the provisions of Section 134(2)(b) of the Nigerian Constitution that such candidate fulfilled the requirements of the constitution.   They also want an order of the court “ setting aside or suspending  a ny declaration and/or issuance of a certific ate  of return to any c a ndid a te in the Febru a ry 25th presidential election in the countr

I can’t find new naira notes again – Charly Boy Charly Boy Veteran Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has raised alarm about the scarcity of the newly redesigned N1000, N500, and N200 notes. Recall that the Supreme Court in March ruled that the old version of the Naira notes shall continue to be legal tender with the new Naira notes until December 31, 2023. However, Charly Boy, taking to his Twitter page, said he observed that only the old notes are being circulated since the apex court’s ruling. He shared a photo that reads, “I nor dey see new naira notes again  He captioned it, “Why why why? Can somebori tell me why?

Again Building Collapsed in Lagos

A three storey-building under construction on Sunday collapsed at the Apapa area of Lagos State. The building located at 45, Ladipo Oluwo Street, GRA Apapa, was said to have partially caved in as a result of thunderstorm. There was heavy rainfall with storms across Lagos State Sunday afternoon which also led to flash floods. This incident occurred barely a week after a seven storey-building under construction collapsed at Banana Island, killing one person with several others injured. Although no casualty was recorded as a result of the incident, the state government has sealed the property over alleged non compliance to the provisional approval granted it. Deputy Director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, Mukaila Sanusi, in a statement Sunday evening said the developers broke government’s seal that mandated a stop work on the property. Sanusi said the property was sealed because the provisional approval was given for two floors but the deve
