8 TYPES OF BAD HANDSHAKES TO AVOID.

2. THE WET SHAKE. The single most efficient way to make a very bad first impression is offering a cold, wet handshake. Always hold your beverages in your left hand and keep your right hand free for handshakin especially during networking events. 3.THE TERMINATOR SHAKE. This painful hand shake can be an instant turn off. Crushing someone's fingers or twisting your wrist so that your hand is on top is a sign of dominance. Your grip should be no harder than what you would use to turn a door handle. 4.THE PUMP HANDLE SHAKE. There's no need to grab someone's hand and repeatedly pump it up and down. Send your hand in for the shake, pump one or two times, hold for a second, then release. 5.THE LOOK-AWAY SHAKE. If you've ever shaken hands with someone who's looking around the room for their next introduction, you've experienced the look-away shake. Never let your eyes wander, no matter how tempting the distraction. Make the all-in connection between eyes and han

Yet since we shake hands so many times in the normal business week, why do so many people shake hands badly? According to Entrepreneur. Com you have one shot at a first impression, so don't ruin it up with one of these bad handshakes. 1. THE LIMP SHAKE. This handshake gives the impression that you're shy, uninterested or lack self-confidence. Apply moderate pressure when shaking someone's hand. When in doubt, try to mirror the other person's grip.

COURT BARS SUDANESE PRESIDENT FROM LEAVING S'AFRICA

A South African High Court in pretoria on Sunday issued an interim order preventing Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir,from leaving the country over alleged war crime related charges. The order was made upon a request by the international Criminal Court demanding the arrest of Bashir, who was first indicted in 2009. The United Nations said about 400,000 people died and more than two million fled their home since rebel took up arms in 2003. MAN AND EQUALITY

When Thomas Jefferson wrote in the American Declaration of Independence that 'all man are created equal',he was not seeking to describe man's endowments, but their political and legal rights. He was not saying that man do not differ from one another in the powers and dimensions of their bodies, minds and characters. He was asserting that, despite variations and differences, they all possessed the right to equal political and legal treatment. We must, however, ask of what real value are political and legal equality to a man who has no bread to eat,no clothes to wear,no roof to shelter him,no chance to earn a livelihood? What we understand as a democratic society must providd for its citizen's minimum status as a member of that society, that keeps him from becoming a beggar, outcast or outlaw and that offers him some protection in his deprivation, losses and fears. In our time, the nations of the democratic world have installed elaborate systems of social security and welfare, ran

THE TRUTH ABOUT LIFE

Though assumption is the lowest level of knowledge ; it  is stil a form of knowledge, and knowledge is key. Assumptions are the foundation upon which interpretations and conclusions are built. Everything in life operates  in under certain assumptions. We make management decisions based on the assumptions we hold about how management ought to  function and how people ought to be governed. For some of us ,we consciously imbibe assumptions  and principle about life and consciously decide based on them;for others,it is unconsciously but potent all the same. Our assumptions will either drown us or help us soar through life.   We have always seen life as an immense mansion with many rooms. Some roots lead to wealth others to the opposite. Ultimately ,we decide where we end up; and life, thus far,has proved that not everyone of us decides well. We all behave differently where we have different levels of understanding, and behave the same way where our understanding is the same. We ea

INEC TO DECIDE ON POLL SHIFT TODAY

COUNCIL OF STATE REJECTS ELECTION POSTPONEMENT.

The council of state on Thursday rose from a seven-hours meeting, advising the Independent National Electoral Commission to go ahead and perform its constitutional responsibility of conducting the 2015 elections. Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state told state House correspondents that INEC told the council that it was ready for the conduct of the election. He said security chiefs also expressed their readiness but raised issues about some local governments currently under the control of the Boko Haram sect. The implication,he said,is that elections will not hold in the affected areas. But Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State claimed that the council advised INEC to consider all the inputs made during the meeting with a view to taking a decision it will announce to Nigerians later.

POVERTY IN A MAN's LIFE,HOW IT AFFCET HIS LIFE TIME and THE CHILD EDUCATION

POVERTY ! Can anyone who has not really been poor know what poverty is?  I really doubt it. How can anyone who enjoy three square meals a day explain what poverty means? Indeed, can someone who has two full meal a day claim to know poverty? Perhaps, one struggles really hard to have one miserable meal in twenty-four hours. Poverty and hunger are cousins. The former always dragging along the latter wherever he chooses to go. If you are wearing a suit,or a complete traditional attire, and you look naturally rotund in your apparel, you cannot understand what poverty entails. Nor can you have a true feel of poverty if you have some good shirts and pairs of trousers, never mind rhat all these are casual wear. Indeed,if you can change from one dress into another and these are all you can boast of,you are not really poor. A person begin to have a true feel of what poverty means when, apart from the tattered clothes on his body, he doesn't have any other, not even a calico sheet to keep away

Jonathan in Boko Haram Heartland.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday made a surprise visit to the troubled northeast, which is in the grip of escalating Boko Haram violence that threatens next month's election. An AFP reporter in the Borno State capital,Maiduguri, said the president arrived in the city shortly before 3:00 pm(1400 GMT) and was met at the airport by the state governor Kashim Shettima. He was accompanied by the chief of defence staff,Air Marshal Alex Badeh, military top brass and the national security advisor as well as about 200 soldies. The visit-Jonathan's first to Maiduguri since March 2013-was shrouded in secrecy and came after a previous trip to the restive region in May last year was cancelled. The cancellation, reportedly for security reasons, dealt Jonathan a further blow in his perceived woeful handling of the kid

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE COMMON MAN AND THE MESSIAH

Image
Often have we heard the terms 'the common people', 'the man in the street',and 'people at the grassroots'. These terms are so commonly used nowadays that one is not exactly sure what the various speakers' mean in the different instances. What do these terms mean? Who is the common man? Let us approach the issue from this standpoint: if there are 'common people',then there should be others who are not common. If we take this logic a little further,we can reason that 'uncommon people' are not found in the street, and are not 'in the grassroots'. This line of reasoning would be difficult to sustain because we all use the streets; even those who regularly travel by air do walk along the streets. And,of course,no one ever lives at the level of 'grassroots'. The more rewarding approach is to consider the word 'common' as a term implying the generality of the people. This line of approach would suggest
