APC Lawmakers Suspend two Principal Officers of the House,summoned two Commissioners

APC Lawmakers in Edo State led by Speaker Uyi Igbe have suspended the Minority whip MrKingsley Ehigiamusoe representing Igueben and the Minority Leader,Mr Emma Okoduwaof Esan North East two constituency for leading the other four suspended members of the House by allegedly desecrating the hallowed chambers situated at the Anthony Enahoro Complex on Oba Ovoranmwen square.
The lawmakers who adopted a resolution to condemn the continued usage of the chambers by the PDP lawmakers said the action contravenes he relevant sections of the 1999 constitution as amened.

EKITI ELECTION: PROSECUTE VOTE-BUYERS WITHIN 7 DAYS OR FACE LEGAL ACTION,SERAP TELLS ELECTORAL COMMISSION,INEC.

SERAP also urged INEC to “promptly and effectively prosecute those arrested, and bring to justice anyone who sponsored, aided and abetted them.” The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has given Professor Mahmood Yakubu, Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seven days to “gather information about reports of vote-buying, undue influence, intimidation, ballot box snatching, and other electoral offences by the three leading political parties in the just concluded Ekiti State governorship election.”   SERAP also urged INEC to “promptly and effectively prosecute those arrested, and bring to justice anyone who sponsored, aided and abetted them.”   In a letter dated June 18, 2022, and signed by SERAP deputy director Kolawole Oluwadare, the organisation said: “Corruption of the ballot box intrudes on the freedom of Nigerian voters to make up their own minds.
