I CAN'T FIND NEW NAIRA NOTES AGAIN

I can’t find new naira notes again – Charly Boy Charly Boy Veteran Nigerian musician, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has raised alarm about the scarcity of the newly redesigned N1000, N500, and N200 notes. Recall that the Supreme Court in March ruled that the old version of the Naira notes shall continue to be legal tender with the new Naira notes until December 31, 2023. However, Charly Boy, taking to his Twitter page, said he observed that only the old notes are being circulated since the apex court’s ruling. Again Building Collapsed in Lagos

A three storey-building under construction on Sunday collapsed at the Apapa area of Lagos State. The building located at 45, Ladipo Oluwo Street, GRA Apapa, was said to have partially caved in as a result of thunderstorm. There was heavy rainfall with storms across Lagos State Sunday afternoon which also led to flash floods. This incident occurred barely a week after a seven storey-building under construction collapsed at Banana Island, killing one person with several others injured. Although no casualty was recorded as a result of the incident, the state government has sealed the property over alleged non compliance to the provisional approval granted it. Deputy Director, Public Affairs of the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA, Mukaila Sanusi, in a statement Sunday evening said the developers broke government’s seal that mandated a stop work on the property.  A Nigerian pastor has reportedly been chased out of a church he built on a piece of land that was loaned to him by a woman who’s a member of the congregation. The woman’s daughter, Ifeoluwa Anthonia narrated how she permitted the clergyman to use the land for three days revival only for her to have loss of memoray regarding the land. She said the man of God went ahead to erect a temporary church building on the same land and kept asking members to pray for God to help them become bonafide owners. Anthonia said her mother forgot that she gave the land to the pastor, so she had to involve her uncle, who then ensured that they were sent packing from the place. Veteran actor Kanayo O Kanayo has ‘threatened’ to deal with a young man who referred to him as a ‘Nanyi ritual’ (ritual man)  Well-known for his role as a ritualist in movies, the veteran was teased by a hypeman recently at an event, leaving the guest spiralling with laughter. In a video shared by KOK, the young man could be seen praising the actor with some friends enthusiastically. At some point, he focused on Kanayo, admonishing people to avoid the likes of the actor who he teasingly labelled a ritualist. As with all present, KOK laughed but promised the young lad will have some answering to do at 1 am midnight. “He don talk finish, don’t worry, he go meet us for 1am,” the movie star said.  While sharing the video, in the caption, Kanayo commended the hypeman’s talent as well as acknowledge the innumerable talents in this clime. “Talents everywhere. HIPPOPOTAMUS KILLS PREGNANT WOMAN IN MAKURDI

Hippopotamus kills pregnant woman in makurdi   Awild hippopotamus has allegedly killed a pregnant woman along the old bridge crossing point of River Benue on Tuesday in Makurdi Benue state capital. There are two bridges on River Benue in Makurdi- the old and the new bridge. An eyewitness account told Newsmen the victim went foy the island with other traders to buy vegetables for commercial purposes when she was attacked at the shore of the river. News men gathered that,the woman, whose identity was not clear, was being ferried in an engine boat, which developed a fault and transferred to a wooden one. The attacked boat was broken into pieces with the victim drowned, it was learnt. However, a search party was instituted and her body was recovered on Wednesday. Benue Police spokesman SP Sewuese Anene, said she was yet to get the information.

FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BEGINS REGISTRATION OF JOBLESS PERSON.

The Federal Government, through the National Directorate of Employment, NDE, yesterday, began the registration of unemployed persons in the 20 local government areas of Lagos State.  NDE state office in Lagos, which announced the development, said the exercise will hold between April 17 and April 28, 2023, at the directorate’s office at 7, Barikisu Iyede Street, Onike, Yaba, and the 20 local government areas in the state. The Lagos State NDE office, Coordinator Mrs. Serena Edward in a statement said “The Lagos State office of NDE has embarked on the registration of unemployed persons in the 20 local government areas in the state. “The NDE is an organization set up by the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 1986 to curb mass unemployment and reduce the craving for white-collar jobs that are not adequate for the teeming number of graduates churned out every year.  “The state registration started on Monday April 17 and end on April 28, 2023. INEC REACTS TO REPORT OF PETER OBI WINNING PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has faulted a trending media report suggesting that the candidate of the Labour Party (LP) Peter Obi, won the presidential election in Rivers State. Recall that the electoral body had announced that the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, won the presidential election in the South-South state. INEC had said Tinubu polled 80,239 votes to win in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, while Obi scored 3,829 votes to come second in the council. However, Premium Times, in a report, said the LP flagbearer won the presidential election in Obio/Akpor LGA, according to results uploaded on the INEC Results Viewing Portal (IReV), and ultimately emerged winner of the exercise in Rivers. INCE NULLIFIES DECLARATION OF BINANI AS ADAMAWA GOVERNOR ELECT

The attention of the Commission has been drawn to a purported declaration of winner in the Adamawa Governorship election by the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) even when the process has clearly not been concluded. The action of the REC is a usurpation of the power of the Returning Officer. It is null, void and of no effect. Consequently, the collation of results of the supplementary election is hereby suspended.
